South Africa Report

Hello Family, we are glad to be back in Uganda after an amazing time of Ministry in South Africa. We had been invited to speak at a revival meeting in Paarl near Cape Town. The pastors in that city have been coming together for the last couple of years to pray for revival in the Paarl Valley.09 HERLEWING A5 ENG

Incidentally the name Paarl is from the Dutch word for Pearl, and I thought it was significant that we were coming from the Pearl of Africa to Paarl.

My slot to speak was the Friday night meeting in the tent seating 2000 people in Faure Stadium.

The worship was absolutely amazing so that by the time I stood up to speak there was such a presence of God in the tent that all I could do was join the brethren in basking in the manifested Glory of God.

God released an anointing of joy and freedom. We had to restrain ourselves as a wave of laughter and joy swept the tent, there was great deliverance as God spoke clearly “whom the Son sets free is free indeed”.

It was amazing to have white, black, colored and Indian from every denomination gather in unity. Finally God released the marching orders: “Christ in you the Hope of Glory”(Col 1:27) ….Christ lives in you, all that is in Him, is in you, all authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me…………THEREFORE GO, GO, GO, GO, GO!!!!!! (Mat 28:18,19)IMG00283

God is releasing His heavenly army that is not afraid, that will not shrink back, but that will believe Him for their family, city, for their Nation. It is time to strap on your armor soldier and join the battle.

Blessing to you this week.

Entering into the new season

Dear Family,

First of all I want to say how happy I was to see all of you at the Graduation of our successful students. It has been a very long time since we last met and there is plenty of reason for that, I will explain.

This is a long posting, please take the time to read all of it as it contains very important information concerning the direction God is leading us. This is a new season, it calls for new measures.

Remember God spoke to us early 2008 that we were in a season of New Beginnings. Of course we received that word with great excitement, because hey, new things are exciting, like getting a new car, new house, new job. However as the year progressed many people spoke to me about the painful situations that they were experiencing. It seemed everything but a new season, in fact it was rather a season of death.

The old things needed to die away so that we could be free to enter the new season.

In the new season things were not to be as they used to. You cannot put new wine in old wineskin. You cannot use old methods and ways of thinking to achieve something new. Someone said: “if you want to see something you have never seen, you must do something you have never done.”

And so after the season of death we started to see light again at the end of the tunnel. I will not dwell much on the reasons for the season of death but suffice it to say that “a seed unless it dies cannot produce much fruit” John 12:24. There cannot be anything new, a new life, unless there first is a death – that is a Spiritual Principle.

So now we are in the New Season. God has started something new in our lives. The Word God gave me: “Forget the former things, Forget what you have learnt about me, your past experiences, the past miracles and the past ways you saw me move. I am doing something new. This new thing is not for the experienced or the learned. It is not for the wise or the clever. The New Season is for those who will receive it like children.

A Season of Family

One of the key parts of this new season it that it is based on family relationships. Each one of us has particular gifts and callings all part of our role in the Body of Christ. “He has given each one of us a special gift according to the generosity of Christ.” Ephesians 4:6

The new season is about us getting to know what those gifts are and how they fit in with the overall plan. A body has many parts, hands, feet, eyes, ears, mouths and so on. The purpose of the parts is not for themselves, for example the mouth eats and chews the food that will supply energy for the whole body. Just in the same way, our gifts and callings are not for ourselves but for the growth of the whole body. That is why it says: “Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the Church, the body of Christ, until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ! (Ephesians 4:12-13). To equip, to build up others, so that we can be mature, full grown, adult, in other words so the body can grow.

Get to know your Gift

As a medical practitioner I can tell you that in fact a cell that is fully dedicated to only supplying itself and growing itself is referred to as a cancer. It must be cut out and removed before it destroys the whole body. The Bible speaks: “Don’t be selfish, don’t live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others better than yourselvf. Don’t think only about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing. Phillipians 2:4

In fact one of the reasons we are unable to see breakthroughs and spiritual failure in some situations is the failure to recognize the Body of Christ we are called to serve.

“That is why many of you are weak and sick and some have even died, …if you eat the bread and drink the wine without recognizing the Body of Christ, you eat and drink judgement upon yourself.

Not recognizing your spiritual gift and how it is to be used to serve the body can result in spiritual weakness. So the Lord is speaking to us to discover those gifts and utilize them to serve and minister to the body.

One important way that we will be able to discover our gifts is to be in relationship with one another. It only when we interact intimately that we get to know each others’ gifts and strengths. It is not easy to know each other in a large group of 50 or even 20. It is when we spend time together one on one in small groups, regularly and consistently. It is when we pray together, eat together, go out together like a family that our true nature is revealed.

That is why God led us away from the bigger meetings for a season. It is His desire that we seek each other out and really get involved in each others’ life, not just for a spiritual gathering. (it is so easy to pretend in those meetings) but real interaction.

As we do that, our call and gifting will be revealed and confirmed by our brothers and sisters and we can enter into a greater fullness of who we are called to be.

Social Networking – Part of the New Season

Another thing that the Lord has been putting strongly on my heart is to begin using technology in more and more of our activities. God told me that what we are seeing around the world, especially social networking on sites such as facebook, and twitter is part of His work in interconnecting the world. By doing this borders have been removed. We no longer need to open up an office in every nation, through the internet we can go straight into people’s living rooms. With time as our internet speeds pick up we will be able to webcast videos to million of homes, with little cost and no boundaries – these are indeed exciting times – these tools where developed for the Kingdom of God, we just need to learn how to use them.

WBC Online Community

We also wanted to improve our interaction and make it more organic. I strongly encourage you to check out our very own WBC online community space here. You can upload your photos, give updates, prayer requests, testimonies and announce events, and invite us right there. This is a unique opportunity to advertise your products, events and to connect with the whole of the WBC family. This is also where we will be announcing events and programs. You can make it a habit to keep one of your browser windows open on the community webpage. That way you can always know if another WBC member is online. We will make this space as useful and colourful as we want. You can even start your own blog on here, keeping us posted on your thoughts, experiences. I will also be answering questions to discussions that you start there. Like I said its an amazing opportunity.

This has indeed become a very long post, there is so much more on my heart but I don’t want to cause any information overload, ohh but before I forget:

Call for intercessors – we are calling for a circle of committed intercessors who will set aside time on a regular basis to pray for the Business Coalition and my program and schedule and that of the all members.
