Africa has been hidden by the Lord for the last century. Africa is the stone that the builders rejected. Sold as a slave by her brothers like Joseph, Africa has been in the pit and then in Potiphars house, serving as a slave to the interest of other nations.

Africa’s wealth has built many nations. Nations like Belgium where able to emerge debt free from the second world war because of wealth from Africa. Britain was able to establish itself as a world power through wealth from Africa.

Africa’s role is to provide refuge. Moses, Jesus, Abraham and many others sought refuge in Africa and received it.

During this time of economic upheaval Africa is one of the only places around the world where there is economic growth. In a world where natural resources are becoming increasingly scarce, Africa is blessed with an abundance. For example the Congo alone has enough hydro-electric potential to provide more than 1 tenth of the world with electricity.  Congo Profile

Countries like Uganda, Rwanda, and Ghana are growing at over 5% per annum, and there are vast investment opportunities in areas like housing, manufacturing, financial services and many more.

Even with the credit crisis many major multinational corporations were able to reap record profits from their Africa Operations in the financial year ending 2008, including Citibank, Royal Dutch Shell and others.

During this time Africa is going to emerge, it will be a major source of food for the world. Large scale agriculture will be a major activity.

Africa must overcome the spirit of orphanhood in order to realize her full potential. The spirit of orphanhood is like the grave…Give! Give! it cries. An orphan does not see any options except to wait for assistance from outside. An orphan is preoccupied with their own predicament instead of coming up with solutions that could bring a different reality.

It is important for all those who desire to truly interact with Africa in a way that will have a lasting impact to avoid re-inforcing the orphanhood spirit. Often well meaning projects only strengthen the idea that Africa can not help herself and will forever be dependent on outside assistance.

Because so many have robbed Africa of her wealth, in order to have authority in Africa one must sow into Africa without the desire to receive back. And the sowing must be sacrificial, something that is a true price paid into the continent, without control and payback, just released as an offering. Without that it will be difficult to gain spiritual authority in this continent.

We have seen many people that were called to minister on this continent who shrank back when they experienced financial loss or larger than expected costs. It is part of paying the price of ministry in this realm. The god over Africa is mammon. The soil of this continent is drenched with innocent blood that has been poured over it for centuries because of the pursuit of wealth. Whether in the pursuit of gold, diamonds, oil, tantalite, tin, both African and foreign armies have killed, murdered and raped the people of this land over and over.

If you come to minister in this continent you will be tested financially, and your heart will be revealed.
